FlourishIQ's courses didn't begin as products โ they began as a curriculum. Since 2018 they have been embedded in real Stellenbosch University programmes, reaching thousands of students each year, refined cohort by cohort, and presented at international conferences.
Most wellbeing tools are built on trends. Ours were built in lecture halls โ measured, iterated, and validated with successive cohorts of first-year students before they were ever offered to anyone else.
The same courses now offered through FlourishIQ run inside live university programmes โ most intensively in first-year, where the transition into university is hardest and wellbeing matters most.
First-year students build a Gritty HERO's Mindset โ Hope, Efficacy, Resilience and Optimism alongside Grit and a Growth Mindset โ as a structured part of their academic-success curriculum.
Seven evidence-based "wise interventions" target the precise psychological barriers that derail first-year success โ belonging uncertainty, fixed mindset, stereotype threat, low confidence, and test anxiety.
The Science of Happiness curriculum walks students through ancient wisdom and modern positive psychology, tracked end-to-end with a validated wellbeing questionnaire across the year.
The impact data behind these courses has been presented and discussed at international conferences on engineering education and positive psychology.

WEEF/GEDC Sydney 2024 ยท ECPP Innsbruck 2024Wellbeing is not left to anecdote. Each course is anchored by recognised, validated measures taken at the start and revisited later, so growth can be seen rather than assumed.
Students establish a personal wellbeing baseline and retake the measure later in the course, making individual change visible across the cohort.
The work is grounded in established, validated frameworks โ the PERMAH model of wellbeing, validated happiness questionnaires, and the HERO, Grit and Growth-Mindset constructs.
What has worked at Stellenbosch since 2018 can be brought to your faculty, programme or institution through FlourishIQ โ as a ready-made course, a cohort programme, or group access for your students.
