From the founder: PROSPER — Seven Pathways to Student Wellbeing

The student pathway. By Dr Alten du Plessis, founder of LearnSmart4Life.

PROSPER is for students in the middle years of their degree, and for any student who wants a whole-of-life map of wellbeing. Life at university asks a lot at once: marks, friendships, purpose, energy and the knocks that come with all of them. This course gives you a map of what supports you and a way to see where you are already strong.

The map is a well-known framework for positive education with seven pathways: Positivity, Relationships, Outcomes, Strengths, Purpose, Engagement and Resilience. It works as both a planning tool and an audit tool, and the only comparison it makes is you against your earlier self. In this course you see your strengths and growth areas across all seven, turn every mark into feedback on effort and strategy, and build friendships, belonging and a connection with your lecturers.

Each pathway opens with its assessments, then core practices and a tool built for student life. In My Lecturer Connection Plan you plan three small moves so that at least one lecturer knows you. After the Test: My Learning Debrief turns one result into feedback and one change for the next assessment. Strengths in My Studies takes your strengths into this semester's modules, and My Bounce-Back Statements has you write your own answers to the sentences your mind produces when things go wrong.

I suggest you begin with the first module, PROSPER and Your Baseline, and take My PROSPER Check-In. You can walk it as a quarter, one pathway a week, or as a semester with the extended tools, the PROSPER Weekly Pulse and an Action Project. A free twenty-four-hour trial lets you try the whole course first.
