The Problem
"Teachers are handed a constant stream of ideas about learning: learning styles, left and right brains, the latest ranking of what works. Some rest on hundreds of studies, some on a few, and some did not hold up when they were tested. Telling them apart takes time most teachers do not have, and even good research only helps once it is planned into a real lesson and tried with real learners."

Who it's for

The right fit

Designed for For school teachers in any subject and grade, lecturers and tutors in colleges and universities, teachers in training and those who mentor them, and departments or staff development teams working through it together.

A course for teachers, lecturers and tutors that turns the research on how people learn into practice. In nine modules you learn the science, try each technique as a learner yourself, plan it into a real lesson or lecture, run a small experiment with your own class and check your understanding: memory and cognitive load, retrieval practice, spacing and interleaving, explaining well, guiding the learning, feedback, teaching students to study, motivation and belonging, and how to read the research. Every study comes from the TeachSmart Evidence Library, checked against the published paper and graded for the strength of its evidence. The course leads to the Certificate in Evidence-Informed Teaching.

Common questions

FAQ

Is it for school teachers or lecturers?
Both. Every module has examples from school classrooms and from university lecture halls, and the practices work with any age group you teach.
How does the certificate work?
Pass the short knowledge check at the end of each of the nine modules (pass mark 80 percent, five attempts each) and log six classroom experiments with what you saw learners recall, explain or do. The certificate is issued the moment both are done, with a verification link.
Will it tell me which methods are proven?
It tells you how strong the evidence is for each one: strong, moderate, emerging or contested, with the main limits. It also shows you how to judge the next claim for yourself, and asks you to try things with your own learners.
