Privacy Policy

FlourishIQ ("we", "us") provides online wellbeing courses and tools. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. FlourishIQ is part of a family of brands (alongside FlourishTalk and InspireWell4Life) created by Dr Alten du Plessis. We process personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and — for visitors in the EU/UK — the GDPR.

1. Information we collect

• Account details — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
• Course activity — your enrolments, progress, reflections and responses you save inside the tools.
• Payment information — handled by our payment providers (see below). We do not see or store your full card details.
• Communications — emails you send us and our replies.
• Limited technical data — a login session and, if you arrive via an affiliate link, a referral code stored in your browser for 30 days. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

2. How we use it

• To create your account, give you access to your courses, and save your progress.
• To process payments and send receipts, welcome and renewal emails, and essential account notices.
• To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
• To improve our courses and platform, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
• To apply the limits on free 24-hour course trials fairly. When you start a trial we keep a record of it with one-way coded fingerprints of your email address, your browser and your network. These codes cannot be turned back into the details themselves; we use them only to see whether a trial has already been used, and for nothing else.

3. Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Payment processor — PayFast, which handles your card payment securely under its own privacy terms.
• Email delivery — for transactional emails (receipts, welcomes, notices).
• Hosting — our website and database host.
• Affiliates — if you arrived via a referral, we record only that a referred sale occurred, to calculate commission. We do not share your personal details with affiliates.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

4. Card payments

Card payments are processed by PayFast for FlourishTalk, the name on your statement. Prices are in South African rand. We never see or store your card details.

5. Keeping your information safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including hashed passwords and restricted access. No online service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active, and thereafter only as long as needed for legitimate business or legal/tax purposes. Trial records (the coded fingerprints described in section 2, never your name or email address itself) are kept for as long as we offer free trials, including after an account is deleted, so that each course can be tried only once.

7. Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email info@flourishiq.co.za and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

8. Cookies & local storage

We use a login session and, where relevant, store an affiliate referral code in your browser for up to 30 days. If you start a free trial, a small random code is stored in your browser for up to 13 months so that trial limits apply fairly; it contains no personal information. These are necessary for the site to work and to credit referrals correctly; we do not use them for advertising.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
